New Regatta: Mini Fastnet 2008

Hello all,

I have configured a new regatta for the Mini-Fans, the Mini Fastnet 2008 starting from Douarnenez, sailing through the Canal du Four, passing the Scillies on their East, then leaving Fastnet Rock on Portside, passing Ouessant on its West and returning to Douarnenez.

As I have learned a lot about your feelings towards weather routing I will provide you with detailed weather information before the start of the race and will give you access to my VMG tool during the race. There will be no weather routing during the race, not for you, not for me and not for members of TYT (Team Yacht-Treff).

I will post the necessary URLs to my tools here, two weeks before the start of the race.

If there is interest in more Mini Racing, I will setup more races for you Wink

This year is an even numbered year, so the big event is not the Transat, but Les Sables - Acores...

I hope you enjoy the Mini regattas, and I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Four days before the start of the race there very few participants, and surprisingly, none TYT-er. But I am sure that the fleet will be larger soon

Otherwise, Musel Team will gane the race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, at least in the team classification cheers

Are you going to post your meteo advaise, as you promised?

I still have to register my ship. I am quite busy writing software at these times,
and I also had some real sailing to do Wink

There is an initial weather info on http://mini.brainaid.de/
This will be updated daily until the Start of the Race. After that I will respect the
rules of the Classemini and stop routing, also for myself.

The start is on June 15th, 1300 UTC. I had this wrong in the initial regatta setup.

I also adjusted waypoint 2 (Wolf Rock).

Bonjour tout le monde,

Je suis également très occupé ces jours-ci mais je ne veux pas louper cette course. J'espère qu'on sera plus nombreux que pour les précédentes "courses des skippers".
Pour le résultat, si la météo est complexe, ça ne sera guère mieux pour moi que pour la course Kamchatka-Sibérie ! Mais comme ça devrait aller mons vite, j'espère tirer mon épingle du jeu !

some boats where apparently still configured to the old starting date. I have put all ships back on the starting line for the start tomorrow, June 15th 2008, 13:00 UTC.

Cependant, les 3 boats concernés gardent le temps écoulé par rapport à l'ancien spot de départ, soit, à cet instant : 5h !
( cf les instructions de course : réinitialisation de la régate ).
Sans changement, on aura déjà 25h de course à l'heure du départ, demain...
No problem, sauf si la régate dure..
Ces boats risquent d'être alors éliminés.

The race should last around 5 days, but I configured 10 days. If some boats take longer, I will extend the duration of the race.

It will be a pleasure to battle with all the TYT fleet. But Musel Teamers are encouraged enough to try it
