| I hope to not offend anybody with this, but somehow things seem to get too easy... When passing into the open ocean, I was 0,5 miles behind BDS-keep coule. He had the better hand through the calms between the islands. Very good job. But now I wonder what happens. I am running on very good weather prognosis. And what I see is this: I am more East than every computer suggests. What puzzles me, is nobody tries to seek his chance in the west. This is good for me, but I really do not understand the "strategy of the crowd". No one pulling the Spi, going cog 355 or so... Everybody seems to vote for the East. I don't think this is too good. Just some thoughts in the night. There are some doing a good race, I do not want to critic. I really wonder about the mass of the crowd... And I know I will be beaten for these thoughts... Anyhow, sitting here in the morning (11:00 ship's time). Fair winds to all, there is some funny things to come in four days | |

| Eddie (and Hervé): I believe that this race was not well thought. Half of the fleet has been eliminated by the amount of islands and the subsequent strandings. And only a small group is fighting with TYT in the open waters If the objective was to do a coastal race (and I believe that the spirit of the RWC is not this - there are other competitions for that), you have demonstrated that you can win it as well So, my congratulations Excuse moi, Hervé, mais je non peu pas de feliciter-vous cette fois | |

Excuse moi, Hervé, mais je non peu pas de feliciter-vous cette fois Which competition is a coastal race on VA ? I'm searching for it and I have to invent some. 1 or 2 legs of the RWC between rocks is a good thing Quelle compétition est une régate cotière ? Je n'en trouve pas sur OV6 et dois en inventer.Une ou deux manches de RZKYU ne font pas de mal

Je n'en trouve pas sur OV6 et dois en inventer.Une ou deux manches de RZKYU ne font pas de mal I am sorry but I am not going to mention any OV's competitor in this forum But OV (O is from Ocean?) is not intended for that, or at least, I believe so Of course, any other interpretation is also valid --------- Je suis désolé, mais je ne vais pas ne mentionner aucun concurrent d'OV's dans ce forum Mais, OV (O est d'océan ?) n'est pas prévu pour cela, ou au moins, je crois-lui ainsi Naturellement, quelle autre interprétation est également valide

Hi Chucky, I don't think the island where the problem during the first phase of the race. The calms found in between where very difficult to handle. You can see that from my track below. And I was not first when reaching the open ocean! Another point about offshore racing: Please let me quote Isabel Joschke about how she won the first leg of the Mini Transat 2007: "I did not sleep!". And that was more than 4 days Island just make things a little more difficult. But there was plenty of space in between. You can allways trade in speed for a safe route.

| chucky_jll, comme brainaid les îlots ne m'ont pas beaucoup gêné. Il fallait juste faire un peu attention, mais rien de rédhibitoire. | |
