A simple question: OV courses are magnetic or true courses?

Thanks.

Thanks Fomalhaut..

Regarding Skippy stuff: no, not for me. I've been reading (Google translating) the other thread. As long as it is impossible to do that deliberately, let's assume it is a system bug. So he is a lucky man !! Smile

But better if he does not try to repeat the event !! Wink

Cheers. Luis on Breitling.

I think so, maybe it was a software bug, and on the distance to go, it's not really a problem.
At soon, good wind.

Hallo,

I've got some problem. I checked loxo and ortho course from New Zeland to Cap Horn and it is: Loxo 126deg, Ortho 19deg witch is impossible. Shocked
I checked the same thing when I was logout and then it is Loxo 113deg, Ortho 149deg witch looks ok. But now what to do? Check out please if you have the same problem.

Hi, HU (Rybak)
Yes, it's the problem of calculation when the course cross the anti-meridian (180°).
Markers of OV can't go (can't draw) a course from East to West, crossing anti-meridian.
As you can see, the map stop at East, at anti-meridian.
You have to go at West, for recover it.
So, go at West, the more you can, at NZ latitude with red marker.
Go to Cape Horn with green marker.
Calculation will be good without no big error..
I done the calculation by another way (Orthodromic calculation with Spheric trigonometry) : from Drake canal to WP8 (Horn)
ortho: 148° 12' and Loxo: 112° around. Distance : 4176 NM.
Have good night lol! lol!

Mmmm.. the enemy !! Wink

From our present position to Cape Horn, ortho gives me 148º, 4185 nm. I think the problem is concerned to the 180º meridian, maybe the system is not doing the correct math.

Sorry Rybak, The calculation I sent you is good, but Cape Horn is WP10 !!
Don't forget to pass at the door WP8/WP9 !

Yes Breitling, it's the problem of anti-meridian (180°).

I was making the calculation just like you said moving the map when I saw the problem scratch No
But I found out that this error appears only on zoom 1. On zoom 2 everything is ok. bom
Anyway thaks again, Smile
