| Est ce une nouvelle manoeuvre pour charger un nouveau robot sur son bateau ou une panne de réveil ? | |

| No, everything OK. I just don't like these Mediterranean bathtub races. The weather is too digital on this inshore lake. When sailing on a real ship in the tyrant sea, we never had wind, so I did not want to go there anymore... | |

| I spent one week in malta 15 years ago. It's very nice but the food is awful if you continue at the south of Malta, you can visit the blue cave. It's very nice. Please stay the aftetrnoon in this cave. We'll wait for you in Cyprus | |

| You where right about the food... I will try again at the south coast of Crete. Man, I forgot to pack enough powerbars and dry-food, I thought we where home in 3 days. | |

Thank you! And for the robot talk: I had to work against the weather routing to get there. My Routing suggested to go north serveral times. When I followed the routing I would end up at a position the northern leaders had been 5 hours before. From there I would have had no chance to attack. So I had to take my "Navigator's Dice" and set a southern course, this was still very much behind, but yesterdays weather update showed it was the lucky punsh. But of course I need one more day of stable weather in the east. Can be very hard on the Med sometimes... We will see....

| Brainaid, what kind of tools do you use for the routage? Could you suggest me any interesting reading to enter the subject? I don't know anything about the subject but I'd be interested in learnig for real regattas... Thank you for any info you can share with me on the subject. Ciao | |

| Hi Mario,
this is a hard question. I would recommend reading through good books on ocean meteorology first, get used to and learn the behavior of highs and lows, tropical weather phenomena and all that. There is a very good French book about all this, including tactics, but I don't have author and title at hand. I saw it once, but can't read it myself due to lack of language. I do not know about a translation.
A search of the internet for weather routing software can reveal a lot of details about how the various software available operate. I have no books on that topic, this is all long accumulated knowledge.
Sorry, can't say: read this and you're done... But maybe the few hints still help.

| I may suggest this book
Météo et stratégie: Croiseière et course au large
Jean-Yves Bernot
You can it in Frech (of course), Spanish and English, at least
The same writer has delivered this summer another interesting book on coastal meteo, but I believe which is only available in French yet

The same writer has delivered this summer another interesting book on coastal meteo, but I believe which is only available in French yet This is exactly what I meant. It is available in English? - Someone here had the French version at home and told me it was not available. Need to order it immediately. Thank you Chucky!

| Yes, it is: pure Italian! I can read French too but reading in my language is much better, expecially if the content could be tough. Thank you guys for your help. I'll start reading that book and then I'll be back. Thank you guys. | |
